Court and Permit Clerk - City of Howe

The City of Howe is seeking an innovative, community-oriented servant leader ready to join its municipal family as the next Court and Permit Clerk

The Court and Permit Clerk is responsible for daily data entry of traffic citations, criminal complaints, and city ordinance complaints in computer system. The individual will also assist the Howe Police Department with coordination of traffic hearings, criminal hearings, court, city code violation hearings and any other hearings or jury trials as required. The Court Clerk will process all necessary paperwork involved with case processing such as hearing summons, jury summons, subpoenas, court orders, and judgments as assigned as well as update files and computer system with case dispositions as required. The individual prepares warrants and delinquent notices as requested by supervisor.

The Court and Permit Clerk is also responsible for assisting, and counseling, the general public, and contractors, in applying for building permits and answer questions about the permits process; receiving building permit plans, applications and supporting documents; distributing plan review letters; calculating fees; monitoring and notifying contractors of expired permits; prepare, generate, and file permits.
