The City of Richland Hills, Texas (pop. 8,000) is seeking a Municipal Court Supervisor who will, under the direction of the Director of Administrative Services, oversee and coordinate the activities of municipal court programs and services, ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, policies, regulations and statutes.

Job Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of two years of college coursework in Criminal Justice or a related field or at least five years of experience as a municipal court clerk. In addition, this position requires five years of responsible customer service experience and knowledge on pertinent federal, state and local codes, laws, and regulations. Must be proficient in using various software applications including Excel, Word and have general accounting and cash handling. Due to Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) requirements, the candidate must never have been convicted, put on court-ordered community supervision, or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years from the date of the court order. Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Deferred Adjudication, or Felony Conviction are permanent disqualifiers. Possession of an appropriate, valid Texas driver's license

Possession of a Certified Municipal Level I Court Clerk Certificate and ability to obtain certification as a Certified Municipal Level II Court Clerk within three (3) years of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment. Possession of or ability to obtain a Notary Public within three months of employment. Texas Crime Information (TCIC)/Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS): complete training within six (6) months of start date. Criminal Justice System Information Services (CJIS) “Security Awareness Training”: complete training within six (6) months of start date..

Compensation

Starting pay is $54,182.00 to $67,727.00 annually depending on qualifications.

Additional benefits include: TMRS - 7% match 2 to 1; Medical, dental, life insurance and long-term disability at no cost to employee; in addition, the city provides optional benefits such as: 457 deferred compensation, flexible spending, and vacation, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays.
