Juvenile Case Manager/Deputy Court Clerk

Reports to: Clerk of the Court

Salary: Up to $55,141.16 D.O.E.

PRIMARY DUTY:

The purpose of this position is to provide clerical, administrative, and quasi-judicial services through assistance in all facets of the operations of the Municipal Court including court in administering the court’s juvenile dockets and supervising the court orders in cases involving juvenile offenders. The Municipal Court Clerk will be responsible for maintaining records of court process, filing complaints, and providing premier customer service while coordinating activities with the general public.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and understand all legal court documents
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to prioritize duties
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Skill in and knowledge of basic office equipment and software (Word, Excel, etc)
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities
  • Prefer knowledge of the Texas Traffic laws, Code of Criminal Procedures and Penal Code

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Two years experience in municipal court or working for a municipality.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: • Texas Court Clerk Level 1 Certification; or ability to achieve in 12 months. • Valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record
